Beautiful plates from the Fénal Badonviller “Germaine” tableware series.
A stunning addition to any vintage dining table, with their elegant shapes, delicate floral motifs and beautiful saturated and misty colors intertwined. The plates are made in the “country art deco” style which was the zeitgeist of the interwar period in French ceramics.
This “Germaine” model is from the 1920s-1930s and has been decorated with a beautiful airbrushed rose design with lovely winded stems and delicate leaves, the rim has a characteristic graphic wreath in the same color as the rose.
Produced in a duo-tone of deep cherry red and dark pine green. The (décor au pochoir) airbrush method was used to give the petals a soft, misted gradient that fades beautifully from dark to light.
These plates have survived a century so far, the old glaze has the beloved superficial cracking and all plates have their own unique color tone.
The “Germaine” plates are made to please and make you smile every single time you eat from them.
